Role Description
This is a 6 month, non-paid, fully remote internship for an Intern - Full Stack Developer located in Colombo. The responsibilities include developing and maintaining both frontend and backend components of our web applications, collaborating with designers and other developers to ensure seamless integration, and writing clean, scalable code. The intern will also contribute to database management, API development, and participate in team meetings on Discord for continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with the team to develop and launch full-stack web applications.
- Build responsive, user-friendly frontend interfaces using modern frameworks (e.g., Next.js, Tailwind CSS).
- Develop and maintain robust backend services and RESTful APIs.
- Assist in database design, integration, and management.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
Qualifications Technical Skills (Must-Have)
- Frontend Development: Strong foundation in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and experience with modern frameworks like React or Next.js.
- Backend Development: Basic understanding of server-side languages (e.g., Node.js, Bun) and API development.
- Database Knowledge: Familiarity with relational (SQL) or non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
- Version Control: Proficiency in using Git and GitHub for code management and collaboration.
- Problem Solving: Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code while understanding basic software architecture.
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- A portfolio or active GitHub profile showcasing personal or academic full-stack projects.
Soft Skills
- Problem-Solving: A logical approach to diagnosing issues and finding efficient solutions.
- Communication: Ability to clearly articulate technical challenges and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to writing bug-free code and matching UI/UX designs accurately.
