Position Summary
The Junior System Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining the firm’s IT systems to
ensure reliable, secure, and efficient daily operations. The role includes user support, basic server and
network administration, and safeguarding confidential legal data. The successful candidate will work
independently while escalating complex issues to external IT vendors when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day technical support to attorneys and staff.
Set up and configure new user accounts, laptops, and email accounts.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
Install and update software applications.
Manage Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
Administer user permissions and access rights.
Support basic Active Directory tasks.
Perform routine system updates and patch management.
Ensure antivirus and endpoint protection is active and updated.
Support firewall and VPN configurations.
Enforce password policies and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Assist in protecting confidential client and legal data.
Monitor daily backups.
Assist with basic data restoration tasks.
Report backup failures or system issues promptly.
Support practice management and document management systems.
Assist users with legal software troubleshooting.
Coordinate with external vendors for application issues.
Maintain inventory of IT equipment.
Assist with procurement of hardware and software.
Work with external IT service providers when needed.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Information Technology (or equivalent certification).
1–2 years of experience in IT support or system administration.
Basic understanding of networking and cybersecurity principles.
Experience with Microsoft 365 administration preferred.
Experience in a professional services environment is advantageous.
