Job Description:
Seeking a junior IT business analyst / delivery manager to contribute to an exciting opportunity supporting the Private Equity business. This position is a remote work assignment.
This is a junior position, so this individual will work under the direction of senior team members. This role will have a heavy emphasis on documentation and the more administrative aspects of business analysis and software delivery responsibilities. This person will take part in analyzing accounting/financial industry process, creating requirements and working with the agile team to deliver technology changes. This individual will interface with different groups within the business and technology. In this role, assignments may include IT business analyst and delivery manager responsibilities, depending on the needs of the assigned initiative.
Responsibilities:
- Translating accounting and financial industry needs into software requirements. This involves evaluating user requests within the framework of existing system precedents and potential future directions.
- Conducting end user interviews to identify business process improvement candidates, exploring potential improvements then documenting the ( "As-Is”) and potential future ( "To-Be”) processes.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving issues that arise in the accounting/financial systems.
- Documenting meeting notes, knowledge articles, business alert bulletins and various other technical and business communications.
- Establishing a constructive and professional business rapport with both internal and external users, and leveraging the resulting synergy to catalyze beneficial transformations.
- Writing requirements stories in Team Foundation Server and maintaining the backlog of prioritized work.
- Supporting the business in making decisions regarding work prioritization, then managing the prioritized work.
- Working with end users to document User Cases for testing, then executing those test cases as part of the System Integration Test phase.
- Providing a demo to end users of the resulting software improvement.
- Collaborating with developers, providing clarifications and addressing inquiries to help ensure software deliveries meet required business functionality.
- Assuring the technology team's work adheres to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Change Management processes. Conducting internal audits to help verify process adherence.
- Participating as a versatile member of the agile team, fulfilling team assignments by taking on overflow and backfill tasks as needed for other team members that may sometimes fall outside of typical responsibilities.
- Monitoring Agile Team performance, providing reports, and leading the corresponding corrective actions to keep the initiative on track.
- Assisting in the removal of obstacles that could impede the team's ability to fulfill commitments.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree
- 1 to 3 years of work experience gathering requirements, writing test documentation and procedures, tracking errors, documenting test results, and leading technology team deliveries.
- Understanding of the information needs for the accounting / finance industry that enables effective conversion of these needs into software requirements
- Familiarity with Private Equity is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS word is required. Familiarity with Visio is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote work environment.
- Possesses a can-do attitude, resourceful, excellent work ethic, enthusiastic, customer-oriented.
