Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated IT Intern / Associate to assist our IT team in providing day-to-day technical support and operational assistance. The role involves hardware setup, software installation, basic troubleshooting, user support, and maintaining IT support tickets. This position is ideal for someone starting their IT career and eager to gain hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware & Software Support
- Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
- Perform basic hardware tasks such as replacing batteries, SSDs, RAM, and other components.
- Install and configure operating systems and standard software applications.
- Troubleshoot common software issues related to MS Outlook, Microsoft Teams, MS Office, and other general applications.
Networking Support
- Assist in reviewing and troubleshooting basic networking issues.
- Support Wi-Fi connectivity, LAN cable connections, and basic network configuration checks.
- Escalate complex networking issues to senior IT staff when required.
User Support & Training
- Provide day-to-day technical assistance to internal users.
- Guide and educate users on resolving common technical errors in internal and external systems.
- Offer clear instructions and basic training to improve user efficiency and reduce repeat issues.
IT Operations & Project Assistance
- Assist with administrative and execution tasks for ongoing IT projects.
- Support activities such as data entry, system testing, documentation, and reporting.
- Follow defined IT processes and procedures during task execution.
Support Ticket Management
- Log, track, and update IT support tickets in the ticketing system.
- Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of assigned tickets.
- Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and user interactions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Familiarity with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (Wi-Fi, LAN, cables).
- Willingness to learn and follow IT support best practices.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills and a user-friendly approach.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work.
- Preferred Qualifications - Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in IT, Computer Science, or Experience in a related field.
- Basic knowledge of IT support ticketing systems.
- Internship or hands-on experience in IT support is a plus.
