Senior QA Engineer - Automation

We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer - Automation who brings a strong focus on quality, test strategy, and delivering meaningful value to end users. This role involves a hybrid approach, where you will work hands-on with both Manual and Automated testing, ensuring end-to-end test coverage across APIs, UIs, mobile apps, and databases.

You’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, and Clients to align testing efforts with business and user needs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable preparing test cases, executing tests manually when needed, and driving automation using various tools and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust test strategies, test plans, and test cases aligned with business and user goals.
• Prepare and execute a mix of manual and automated test cases for API testing, UI (Mobile/Web) testing, and Database validation.
• Support performance and load testing using tools such as JMeter or Locust.
• Ensure a user-first mindset, validating usability and customer experience throughout the QA process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify edge cases and improve product quality.
• Use JIRA and related tools for test planning, execution, and defect tracking.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the CI/CD pipeline through test automation.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA practices and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Maintain comprehensive test documentation and reporting to ensure clarity, traceability, and accountability.
• Perform defect prevention and root cause analysis to reduce recurring issues and improve quality.
• Apply security and compliance awareness (e.g., GDPR, OWASP) within QA processes.
• Manage test environments and test data effectively to support reliable and repeatable testing outcomes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in software testing, with a proven ability to balance both manual and automation testing.
• Strong expertise in test case design, test execution, and defect analysis.
• Hands-on experience in automation across API, UI, Mobile, and Database layers.
• Exposure to performance and load testing (a strong plus).
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in CI/CD environments.
• Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as JIRA, Postman, Selenium, Appium, and others.
• Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Java, JavaScript) for test automation development.
• Hands-on experience integrating automation with frameworks like TestNG, Cypress, Selenium, or CI tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries for backend validation.
• Knowledge of basic security testing practices and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, OWASP).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• A consistent focus on delivering quality-driven outcomes.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
• Knowledge of BDD/TDD frameworks such as Cucumber, JBehave, or SpecFlow.
