About The Role
The Boeing Company is seeking an Entry-Level F-22 Software Engineer - Developer to join the F-22 Mission Software team based in Berkeley, Missouri. This role is integral to supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) in the design, development, and maintenance of avionics solutions for the F-22 Raptor, the United States Air Force’s premier 5th generation air superiority fighter. As part of an agile team, you will contribute to modernizing and maintaining the Operational Flight Program (OFP) and related infrastructure, ensuring the software supports the aircraft's advanced capabilities. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge defense technology, providing vital support to national security and the U.S. Air Force.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess at least a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution. The ability to obtain access to U.S. Special Access Programs (SAP) is required. Preferred candidates will have experience with programming languages such as C++, C#, and Python, along with familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems. Prior experience in AGILE software development methodologies, using tools like Atlassian suite, GitLab, or Git, and knowledge of software testing, containerization, and software abstraction are highly desirable. Candidates must also demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities
Supporting the full lifecycle of non-embedded software development, including design, coding, testing, and maintenance, to meet industry standards and safety regulations. Assisting with the review, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into initial software designs. Developing, maintaining, and enhancing software functionalities to support system integration and operational needs. Contributing to the development and documentation of software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs. Debugging and troubleshooting software issues to ensure reliability and performance. Participating in user inquiry handling, technical troubleshooting, and feedback analysis to improve software usability. Supporting the implementation of emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks, as well as adapting to new regulations affecting software development. Establishing and monitoring software processes, tools, and key performance metrics aligned with organizational goals. Contributing to research and development projects to innovate and improve software solutions.
