Role Description
We are looking for a Senior Technical Lead / Architect to lead an engineering team within a large US based fintech company.
You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers designing, developing and maintaining mission critical backend systems in the capital markets domain, while working closely with overseas stakeholders to ensure quality, performance, reliability, maintainability and timely delivery. Your core responsibilities will be to;
- Design, develop, and maintain back-end systems using Python (primary) and C++ (secondary) to facilitate customer funding and trading.
- Provide technical leadership within the team.
- Sprint planning and tracking in collaboration with the product manager.
- Streamline processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for processing systems and workflows.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in Python and trading technologies.
The role will be based in Sri Lanka but remote-first, i.e. you will be working remotely for the most part, with occasional physical meetings with the team in Colombo.
Compensation will be in USD.
General Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Minimum 08 years full-time industry experience.
- Meet one of the following two criteria:
- Proven experience in technical design, development, code review, testing and troubleshooting of capital market backend systems (e.g. trading, broker back office, market data, surveillance), plus a willingness to learn Python Or:
- Proven experience in technical design, development, code review, testing and troubleshooting of Python based, mission critical backend systems, plus a willingness to develop capital markets domain expertise.
- Experience with SQL and relational database systems.
- Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems.
- Familiarity with cloud services such as Google Cloud Platform.
- Ability to take full ownership (design, implement, test, deploy, maintain, iterate) of projects, in direct collaboration with product managers and stakeholders
