Role Description
We are looking for a versatile Full Stack Developer to join our team. This role combines maintaining and enhancing existing WordPress websites with building modern web applications using best-practice backend and API-driven development.
The ideal candidate is curious, reliable, and eager to learn, with a focus on clean, maintainable code and the ability to work across both front-end and back-end systems.
What You'll Do
WordPress Development
- Maintain and enhance WordPress websites built on GeneratePress
- Develop custom plugins, themes, and functionality using core WordPress principles (not template hacks)
- Ensure websites are secure, performant, and maintainable
- Collaborate with designers to implement custom functionality
Modern Web Development
- Build and maintain backend services using Node.js, .NET, or similar technologies
- Work with APIs and databases to support internal and client applications
- Collaborate with the team to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions
- Follow best practices in version control, deployment, and testing
Continuous Learning & Growth
- Use modern development tools and cloud-ready workflows
- Take ownership of your development environment and upskill independently on advanced development concepts
What We Are Looking For:
- 3+ years’ experience in core WordPress development (PHP, hooks, actions, filters, CPTs, custom plugins)
- Proficiency with GeneratePress or similar frameworks
- Strong backend experience with Node.js, .NET, or Java
- Good understanding of REST APIs and database design (SQL or NoSQL)
- Experience with Git or other version control systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with headless WordPress or decoupled architectures
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue)
- Basic experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Knowledge of containerisation (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
