Role Overview
We are seeking a paid, remote Shopify Developer Intern to join our growing team. In this role, you will work under the guidance of senior developers to build and customize Shopify storefronts, enhance site performance, and integrate third-party tools. This is an excellent opportunity to develop real-world skills in e-commerce development while contributing to projects for a diverse portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Optimize site load times and overall performance for enhanced user experience
- Integrate Shopify with third-party apps and APIs (e.g., payment gateways, inventory management, marketing tools)
- Collaborate with designers, marketers, and back-end developers to implement new features and fixes
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs or technical issues in a timely manner
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best-practice documentation
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Shopify platform and theme development
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Liquid templating
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Understanding of e-commerce best practices (UX, SEO, mobile responsiveness)
- Previous experience or coursework in responsive web design
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field
