Role Description

This is a full-time for one of clients, a leading commercial bank in Sri Lanka based out of Colombo and is an on-site role as a Database Administrator located. The Database Administrator will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as database design, troubleshooting, replication, and database administration.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Database Administration and Troubleshooting
• Experience in Database Design, Databases, and Replication
• Experience in working with SQL Server, Oracle or MySql
• Experience in performance tuning of database systems, backup and recovery, disaster recovery plans and clustering
• Experience in planning and deploying database upgrades and patches and machine learning experience is a plus
• Technical degree in Computer Science or Information Technology; Oracle or Database Administration Certification is preferred
• Ability to work independently and with teams with excellent written and verbal communication skills

You should ideally;

+ Possess a degree in Computer Science or a full professional qualification in IT acceptable to the Bank

+ Possess Oracle Certified Professional certification or Oracle Weblogic 12c Administrator will be an added advantage

+ Possess at least 6 years hands on experience in Database and System administration

+ Possess good technical skills in Oracle Weblogic Server System administration

+ Be a good team player

Your main responsibilities will be as follows;

+ Database troubleshooting and maintenance

+ Installation of databases and weblogic servers

+ Database backup and recovery

+ Health and performance checks for oracle database and middleware servers

+ Performance tuning and capacity monitoring

+ Support the Temenos T24 Core banking environment
