Job Description
This project-based contract role focuses on overhauling an existing website’s content structure and end-to-end customer journey, with a strong emphasis on product discovery, information flow, and navigation. You will work in a content-first website UX capacity, optimizing information architecture, taxonomy, and user flows within an established design system. The position is primarily remote, requires strong hands-on WordPress experience, and calls for someone who can operate independently while partnering closely with cross-functional teams to execute and optimize rather than create net-new visual design.Responsibilities
- Own the website’s content architecture and optimize site navigation to support intuitive user journeys.
- Restructure product and marketing content using a clear, logical taxonomy that improves discoverability and comprehension.
- Partner with marketing communications, product, and IT teams to align web content with internal systems and business objectives.
- Manage, update, and organize website content within WordPress, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and usability.
- Support and maintain integrations between the website and Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot) and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Apply SEO best practices focused on technical fixes, site structure, and content performance improvements, including addressing broken links.
- Identify opportunities for basic automation or AI-assisted workflows to improve content management efficiency.
- Review existing wireframes and design system assets, then execute content and UX improvements within those established frameworks.
- Analyze user flows and customer journeys to recommend and implement enhancements that streamline navigation and information access.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, present UX and content recommendations, and incorporate feedback.
- Operate independently in a lightly structured environment, proactively managing priorities and communicating progress and risks.
- Document content structures, taxonomies, and navigation logic to support ongoing maintenance and future enhancements.
- 3–10 years of experience in website content management, UX, or digital marketing.
- 3–8 years of experience specifically in website content management, content strategy, and UX related to information architecture and navigation.
- Strong, hands-on WordPress experience managing and updating website content.
- Proven portfolio or work samples demonstrating website redesigns or content restructuring efforts.
- Evidence of improvements to user flow and navigation, including clear content hierarchy and taxonomy work (beyond purely graphic design).
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a lightly structured environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with SEO fundamentals, including technical fixes, addressing broken links, and optimizing content performance.
- Experience working in B2B, manufacturing, or technical product environments.
- Exposure to product information databases or catalogs and how they connect to website content.
- Experience with Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot) and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Familiarity working with global teams across time zones and functions.
- Exposure to light automation or AI-assisted workflows in the context of content or marketing operations.
- Experience in UX design, content management, and digital marketing within WordPress environments.
- Ability to present recommendations clearly and confidently to stakeholders, supported by data and examples from prior work.
This role offers remote flexibility, with a preference for candidates who can work effectively in Eastern or Central time zones to align with team collaboration. You will join a collaborative and flexible team that values independent contributors and encourages open communication. The environment is supportive and not overly rigid, with a willingness to train and support new team members where needed. There is no expectation of consistently long hours or unrealistic demands, and the culture emphasizes balance, mutual respect, and the ability to operate comfortably in gray areas. The nature of the opportunity is a clear, project-based contract, with transparent communication about scope and duration; while a future extension or conversion could be possible if needs change, it is not promised or implied. Work will be conducted primarily using WordPress, Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot), Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and common collaboration tools, within an established design system that already includes branding, logos, colors, and wireframes.
