At Resilience, we’re creating a new category that integrates cybersecurity, cyber insurance, and cyber risk management.

Founded in 2016 by experts from across the highest tiers of the US military and intelligence communities – and built by prominent leaders and innovators from the insurance, technology, and cybersecurity industries – Resilience is rewriting the rules of how cyber risk is assessed, measured, and managed. Our integrated cyber risk solutions connect risk quantification software, cybersecurity experts, and A+ rated cyber insurance, all purpose-built for middle and large organizations.

Guided strongly by our mission and four core values - transparency, excellence, grit, and humility, our culture uniquely blends many different backgrounds, experiences, and skills from across industries and geographies - all focused on helping our clients and partners stay ahead of the bad guys. We are a cybersecurity company, a Cyber and Tech E&O-focused MGA, a fintech startup, and a data science powerhouse, all purposefully built into one.

Resilience is proud to be backed by leading technology investment firms, including General Catalyst, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Intact Ventures, Founders Fund, CRV, and Shield Capital. With headquarters in San Francisco, Resilience’s team is globally dispersed, with offices in New York, Chicago, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Toronto, and London. Resilience offers insurance coverage through its licensed and appointed insurance agents and security services through its expert security team.

The Hook: Why this role matters now Welcome to the “Moonshot” Initiative. As a Full Stack Software Engineering Intern, you won't just be fixing bugs or pushing minor updates—you will be a core contributor to an experimental project aimed at disrupting the entire cybersecurity market. This is a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between "blue-sky" ideation and production-ready engineering, taking total ownership of shaping a potential "billion-dollar idea" from the ground up. If you want to see how high-level strategy translates into code that solves problems no one else is tackling yet, this is the place to build it.

The Mission: What you will achieve in your 3-month internship In this intensive 3-month sprint, you will take ownership of rapid prototyping, building, and iterating on full-stack features using modern frameworks to bring brand-new cybersecurity concepts to life. You will actively participate in "Think Tank" sessions to brainstorm untapped opportunities, partnering daily with Product Management and Design to ensure your technical architecture completely aligns with the user experience and our broader business goals.

The Toolkit: Technical skills

  • You must be currently pursuing a BS/MS in Computer Science (or a related technical field)
  • Possess a true "Builder" mindset, demonstrated through a portfolio of side projects, hackathons, or previous internships showing you love creating from scratch.
  • You need familiarity with modern web technologies such as React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, or Go.
  • A deep curiosity or passion for security, privacy, and protecting the digital landscape.
  • Communication skills to clearly explain complex technical trade-offs to non-technical teammates.

The Culture: How we work We are looking for a scrappy, curious, and fearless builder who isn't afraid of ambiguity or the challenge of building "v1" products. We are guided strongly by our four core values: transparency, excellence, grit, and humility. You will operate in a highly collaborative, high-energy environment, joining the innovation team in our Burlingame, CA office 1–2 times per week for high-intensity strategy and ideation sessions.

The Benefits: Standardized perks You will receive direct, hands-on mentorship from senior engineering leaders while having real-world influence on a product’s foundational strategy. You will work alongside prominent innovators from the technology and cybersecurity industries, gaining unparalleled experience at a well-funded organization backed by top-tier investment firms. This is a paid internship of $35/hr.
