Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Software Engineer Intern, based in Colombo. The intern will be responsible for assisting in backend web development, software development projects, and the implementation of programming solutions. Tasks may include writing, testing, debugging code, and participating in the software development lifecycle with guidance from experienced engineers. Collaboration within the development team will be integral to this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining frontend features using React and Next.js
- Write clean, testable Go code for backend services under engineer's guidance
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups
- Help debug and resolve issues across the full stack
- Write basic unit tests and document your work
- Collaborate with senior engineers and learn best practices in software development
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals and principles
- Understanding of Back-End Web Development and Software Development practices
- Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn new technologies
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with real-world projects or internships in software development is a plus
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Go or any compiled language.
- Basic knowledge of AI/ML concepts, LLMs, or Web3/Blockchain frameworks.
- Experience contributing to open-source or personal projects.
