At Olee AI, we’re building intelligent, scalable, and secure digital products. We’re looking for a Backend Engineer Intern (Node.js) who is passionate about building high-performance backend systems, designing scalable APIs, and working with modern server-side technologies to power real-world applications.
What you'll do
- •Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js (Express.js / modern frameworks)
- •Build and manage REST APIs (and/or server-side logic) for web and mobile applications
- •Implement business logic, authentication, authorization, and role-based access control
- •Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and relationships
- •Work with ORMs such as Prisma, Sequelize, or TypeORM
- •Integrate third-party services (payments, email, storage, etc.)
- •Ensure backend systems are scalable, secure, and high-performing
- •Debug, test, and maintain backend applications
- •Collaborate with frontend, AI, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- •Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented backend code
What we're looking for
- •Basic to intermediate proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript
- •Hands-on experience with Node.js (Express.js or similar frameworks)
- •Strong understanding of backend development concepts and API design
- •Familiarity with RESTful APIs and server-side architecture
- •Basic knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL) and data modeling
- •Understanding of authentication (JWT, sessions) and secure API practices
- •Comfortable with asynchronous programming (Promises, async/await)
