A prominent US-based software development company is urgently seeking resources for above positions at their Colombo-based development center
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex, responsive, and user-centric front-end applications using React
- Define and enforce frontend architecture standards, best practices, and reusable component design
- Build and integrate scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot
- Drive UI performance optimization, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility
- Raise the bar on frontend code quality, maintainability, and testing standards
- Ensure secure frontend-backend interactions and contribute to application security best practices
- Own and ensure adherence to Non-Functional Requirements including Performance, Accessibility, Compatibility, Security, Observability, and Availability
- Lead implementation of frontend testing strategies (unit, integration, and end-to-end testing)
- Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, Product Owners, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences
- Improve and support CI/CD pipelines with a focus on frontend build, test, and deployment automation
- Embed observability into the application and proactively monitor frontend and backend health
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across the stack
- Mentor software engineers in React best practices, modern JavaScript patterns, and performance optimization
- Contribute to technical decision-making, architecture reviews, and long-term platform evolution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computing, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong focus on frontend or full-stack development
- Advanced expertise in React JS, including hooks, state management, performance optimization, and component architecture
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript and modern frontend tooling
- Solid experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs
- Working knowledge of Java and Spring Boot for backend development and API implementation
- Knowledge of frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and browser rendering behavior
- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG) and cross-browser compatibility
- Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB (integration-level understanding)
- Exposure to AWS and cloud-native deployments
- Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and frontend build/deployment workflows
- Strong understanding of Non-Functional Requirements, particularly Performance, Accessibility, Security, and Observability
- Ability to evaluate and adopt new frontend technologies and best practices
