As a Data Engineer Intern, you will partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test and implement features and code. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate and contribute to all activities required to deliver high quality features, learn best practices through mentorship and grow your skills and confidence through hands-on learning in a team environment.
Outcomes and Activities:
- Design and develop data pipelines and data marts
- Write unit-tests and validate your development against acceptance criteria
- Apply team coding, documenting, and testing standards
- Participate in code reviews and communicate application changes
- Document code and projects so others can easily understand, maintain and support
- Debug the problems which arise in production
- Read and write design documents
- Contribute to team's sprint commitments and actively participate in our Agile practices
- Learn the business process domain to better support the business
- Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or closely related field of study; or equivalent work experience
- Conceptual understanding of Data Warehouse/Lakehouse
- Experience working in a team environment
- Ability to develop using SQL and/or Python
- Understand basic database design techniques and ability to create simple database queries
- Show initiative and the desire to learn new technologies
- Be introspective and open to feedback to continuously improve; prioritize personal development and identify potential barriers
- Show emerging critical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate technical information (both verbal and written)
