JOB TITLE: Data Engineering Intern

REPORTS TO: Database Manager

DEPARTMENT: Product & Technology

LOCATION: Remote

DURATION: 8 Weeks starting June 15th

PAY RATE: $18.00 Per Hour

Job Overview

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Data Engineering Intern to join our team! As a Data Engineering Intern, you’ll work closely with experienced data engineers and gain hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines, optimizing databases, and contributing to data-driven projects. This is an excellent opportunity to kickstart your career in data engineering while working on meaningful projects in a collaborative environment. The salary for this role is $18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process data from various sources.
  • Support the creation and optimization of data storage solutions, including data lakes and warehouses.
  • Work with large and complex datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and security.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to understand data needs and requirements.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure efficient and error-free data processing.
  • Work with Database engineers to understand the infrastructure that backends data platforms

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python, SQL, or Java.
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and data modeling concepts.
  • Understanding of big data tools or cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, Apache Spark) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills (Bonus But Not Required)
