About The Role
In 2024, Veeva announced the creation of a new Enterprise Application Platform aimed at expanding beyond the traditional Life Sciences sector into new markets. This initiative offers an exciting opportunity for a Principal Front-End Engineer to join the pioneering New Markets team at an early stage. The ideal candidate will work closely with other senior engineers to take ownership of critical components of the platform, including framework development, application architecture, and UI/UX design. This role involves shaping a greenfield codebase, influencing engineering processes, and fostering a collaborative culture. The position is remote, with a preference for candidates located in Pacific Standard Time (PST) or Mountain Standard Time (MST), providing a chance to leave a lasting impact on Veeva’s strategic growth and technological innovation.
Qualifications
- Expert-level proficiency with modern front-end technologies, including JavaScript, CSS, TypeScript, and React
- Deep knowledge of core browser APIs such as data storage (local/session/cookies), iframes, and web workers
- Hands-on experience with modern front-end build tools like Vite, ESBuild, Rollup, or Webpack
- Proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining frameworks or libraries for engineering teams
- Experience guiding products from initial design to a mature, successful state
- Ability to translate high-level business goals into concrete technical strategies
- Experience working in fast-paced, greenfield environments as a key product and culture driver
- Location in PST or MST zones
- Strong communication and mentorship skills to foster team growth and technical excellence
- Experience architecting and delivering complex, scalable enterprise SaaS features
- Exposure to full-stack development, especially in Rust
- Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Lead the architecture and development of core front-end subsystems such as administration, workflow, and reporting modules, guiding them from concept to scalable solutions
- Co-author and maintain a custom UI framework, including creating foundational tools and comprehensive documentation to empower engineering teams
- Mentor and support engineers across the team, sharing expertise in TypeScript, React, and front-end best practices
- Champion a culture of quality by implementing thorough testing strategies and overseeing continuous integration processes
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate complex business requirements into intuitive, efficient user experiences on the new enterprise platform
- Drive technical strategy aligned with business objectives, ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable codebases
- Contribute to establishing engineering standards, processes, and best practices within the team
