We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator with strong expertise in semantic modeling and reporting to work with us on outsourcing basis with one of our clients in the IT & Tech Industry . The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing efficient data models, optimizing SQL performance, and enabling high-quality reporting and dashboards for business users.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain ERD models and logical/semantic data models.
- Develop and optimize advanced SQL queries, including performance tuning and query optimization.
- Create and manage semantic layers to support reporting and analytics.
- Design and implement star and snowflake schemas, measures, metrics, and aggregations.
- Ensure proper normalization and data integrity across databases.
- Support data ingestion and storage using Azure ADLS, containers, and datasets.
- Enable and maintain datasets for reporting and analytics consumption.
- Collaborate with BI and business teams to translate reporting requirements into scalable data models.
- Support and optimize dashboards and reports across multiple BI platforms.
- Monitor database performance, security, and availability.
Technical Skills & Expertise
- Strong experience in ERD modeling and semantic/logical data modeling.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, including query tuning and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with star/snowflake schemas, metrics, measures, and aggregations.
- Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and container-based data storage.
- Strong exposure to BI and reporting tools such as:
- Power BI
- SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ)
- IBM Cognos
- SSRS
- Understanding of data normalization techniques and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in database administration, data modeling, or BI support roles.

- Good documentation and communication skills.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience working in cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred).
