Job Summary
This role involves creating and implementing algorithmically generated questions and lessons across subjects such as Chemistry, Mathematics, and other educational disciplines using Item Specification Language.
We are seeking an innovative and detail‑oriented Content Programmer to join our team in Irvine, CA. This position plays a key role in developing high‑quality digital learning content and supporting a wide range of educational products. The Content Programmer will work closely with Content Architects, Quality Assurance teams, and other technical staff to ensure accurate, effective, and engaging instructional materials.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Content Implementation Manager, the Content Programmer is responsible for implementing algorithm‑driven items and lessons for multiple subject areas. The role involves coding, optimizing, maintaining content logic, and ensuring accurate execution based on detailed specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement items, algorithms, and lesson logic following specifications provided by Content Architects.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, optimize, and document existing items and algorithms.
- Review and enhance source code to improve performance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with fellow Content Programmers, Supervisors, and Quality Assurance teams.
- Address content-related issues reported by Product Support and implement required fixes.
- Participate in peer reviews and provide constructive feedback to other programmers.
- Support additional tasks and assignments as needed.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure high‑quality, error‑free digital content delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Entry‑to‑intermediate proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong foundations in chemistry, mathematics, and general programming principles.
- Effective communication skills with strong documentation habits.
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments is a plus.
