This is a full time, remote Summer Internship that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our IT Operations team. In this role, you will be part of a unique and award-winning internship program within the company. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning.
This role offers hands-on experience with enterprise technologies, cloud platforms, and end-user support in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to critical infrastructure projects. The duration of the program is expected to be 90 days.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure projects, including virtualization, storage, and identity management solutions.
- Provide support for end-user technology issues, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
- Participate in configuration and deployment of cloud services and virtual desktop environments.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on projects involving VMware, NetApp, Intune, Okta, Windows, and macOS platforms.
- Monitor system performance and assist in proactive maintenance tasks.
- Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing.
- Support IT security initiatives, including identity and access management and compliance checks.
- Contribute to automation efforts using scripting tools (PowerShell) for routine tasks.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on improving operational efficiency.
- Working towards a degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of end-user technologies and both on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as VMware, NetApp, Intune, Okta, and operating systems (Windows and macOS).
- Experience or coursework related to cloud infrastructure services (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and virtual desktop solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Exposure to IT security principles and best practices is an asset.
- Able to work the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).
