About Teams Squared:
Teams Squared is a global team-augmentation company supporting distributed legal, operational, and technical teams. This role supports the company’s IT and cybersecurity operations in collaboration with the Engineering & IT Lead responsible for cybersecurity compliance (ISO 27001 alignment), device lifecycle management, automated provisioning infrastructure and centralized security platforms.
Role Overview:
The IT & Cybersecurity Operations Intern is a junior operational support role for senior undergraduates seeking hands-on experience in real-world IT and cybersecurity operations.
This is a paid, full-time, one-year internship, based on-site in Colombo. The role involves meaningful responsibility and close collaboration with the Engineering & IT Lead, supporting global contractor operations, endpoint security, identity systems and internal automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support device procurement, setup and onboarding for global contractors.
- Assist with installing and maintaining standard software and monitoring tools.
- Help monitor endpoint security platforms and support remediation efforts.
- Assist with applying and maintaining security policies aligned with internal standards and ISO 27001 practices.
- Support device enrollment, compliance checks and identity-related operations using endpoint and cloud systems.
- Maintain accurate device and asset records across management platforms and internal trackers.
- Assist in preparing regular operational and cybersecurity health reports.
- Apply structured troubleshooting methods to diagnose and resolve common device or configuration issues.
- Contribute to improving internal documentation, workflows and automations.
- Participate in internal tooling and automation projects using scripting, spreadsheets, version control, and cloud tools.
- Use AI tools responsibly to support research and workflow improvement.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must be in the 3rd or 4th year of undergraduate study.
- Strong interest in IT operations, endpoint security and technical problem-solving.
- Familiarity with Windows-based systems and basic technical concepts.
- Ability to work standard Sri Lankan working hours, with flexibility to collaborate across time zones when required.
- Comfortable working full-time on-site in Colombo.
