The Department of Information Technology at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura offers the Degree - B.Sc. Honours Business Information Systems. It serves Sri Lanka's Largest State University Faculty in terms of students - The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
We seek suitably qualified graduates to join our esteemed faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the education and development of future IT professionals while gaining valuable teaching experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting Computer Lab based lectures, conducting tutorials, and leading practical sessions in assigned courses offered by the Department to Undergraduates
- Assisting in curriculum development and course coordination under the guidance of senior faculty members.
- Providing academic support and guidance to students, including grading assignments, assessing student performance, and offering constructive feedback.
- Engaging in research activities, including conducting literature reviews, data analysis, and writing research papers.
- Participating in departmental meetings, workshops, and other academic activities as required.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Posession of Professional Qualifications / Industry Cetifications will be an advantage. Applicants with degrees such as Management + IT combinations, including Operations and Technology Management, Supply Chain Management with an exposure to ERP systems are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in areas such as programming, databases, networking, software development, and information systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to students.
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience will be highly regarded.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning, research, and keeping up with emerging trends in Information Technology.
Duration:
The position is available for a fixed term of 12 month, extendable.
