Intern Quality Assurance

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance (QA) Intern to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our web applications, which are built using modern technologies including the MERN stack. This internship is an excellent opportunity for undergraduates who are passionate about software testing and quality engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the testing of web applications to ensure they meet functionality, usability, and performance standards.
• Execute manual test cases, clearly and accurately reporting any identified bugs.
• Collaborate closely with developers to understand application features and verify that fixes are implemented correctly.
• Participate in the creation of test cases, execution of tests, and regression testing efforts.
• Identify edge cases and contribute to enhancing overall test coverage.
• Maintain comprehensive test documentation, including bug reports and test results.
• Learn and apply QA best practices and testing standards throughout the testing process.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of software testing concepts, including manual testing, test cases, and the bug life cycle.
• Familiarity with web applications and their operational mechanics.
• Knowledge of QA tools such as JIRA, TestRail, Postman, Selenium, and Cypress.
• Basic understanding of API testing methodologies.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development processes is a plus.
• A keen interest in automation testing.
• Experience testing applications developed with the MERN stack is advantageous.
• Fundamental knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical thinking skills.
• Effective communication skills for clearly reporting issues and collaborating with team members.
• A willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and testing methodologies.
• Candidates must be based in Kandy or be able to commute to Kandy
