What is UniBee?
Unibee is a fast-growing startup based in Sri Lanka, dedicated to helping university students unlock exclusive discounts and perks across the country. We're a small, ambitious team launched in September, collaborating with 20+ brands in F&B, clothing, entertainment and more. We're currently looking for a Mobile Developer Intern to join our team for the next 5 months.
What you will be doing
- Primarily using React Native (typescript) and Node.js .
- Building and maintaining app UI features
- Using tools such as GitHub, Node.js, AWS, Docker, Cursor, and more

Internship Details
- Dec 1 - January 30 (full time, 40hrs/week)
- Feb 2 - April 25 (part time, 15-20hrs/week)
- Dates & hours are adjustable
- Extendable based on performance
- Working Time Zone: UTC+05:30 (Sri Lanka Time)
- Weekly team meeting on Saturday (usually 30-40 mins)
- Location: Fully remote
- Compensation: monthly stipend provided
Requirements
- Academic or professional experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experience in one backend framework and a relational database
- Experience using AWS (EC2) and docker
- Academic background in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Strong knowledge in data structures (queue, map, list etc)
- Strong verbal and written English communication
- 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year in university (final year students not allowed)
- Should be available for at least 5 months (full time or part time)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Node.js, PostgreSQL, or React Native
- Experience launching or deploying a mobile app
- Strong willingness to learn new tech stacks and AI tools
- Based in Colombo, Sri Lanka
