Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure and services using Microsoft Azure, including virtual networks, storage, identity, and compute resources.
- Configure and administer Microsoft 365 technologies, including Azure Active Directory Premium (AADP), Intune (for device and application management), Microsoft Information Protection (MIP), Defender for Office 365, and Defender for Endpoints.
- Support, maintain, and troubleshoot on-premises solutions including:
- Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and Group Policy
- Exchange Server (mail flow, database management, high availability)
- SQL Server (installation, configuration, backup and recovery, performance tuning)
- System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for software deployment and updates
- Windows Server infrastructure (Core and GUI, virtualization with Hyper-V)
- Integrate and manage hybrid environments connecting on-premises infrastructure with cloud services (e.g., Azure AD Connect).
- Implement and enforce security best practices, including conditional access, identity and access management, data loss prevention, and email security protocols.
- Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and technical guides for deployments and ongoing support.
- Monitor system performance, ensure high availability, and participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery exercises.
- Automate routine tasks and deployments using scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- Stay up to date with new features, updates, and security advisories related to Microsoft technologies.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated technical issues and mentor junior IT staff as needed.
Qualifications & Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years in a systems engineering or administration role, with hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft on-premises environments (Active Directory, Exchange Server, SQL Server, SCCM, Windows Server).
- Experience managing security and compliance in hybrid environments.
- Proficiency in PowerShell or similar scripting tools for automation.
- Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, MCSE) are highly desirable.
Preferred (Additional) Skills
- Experience with Azure Automation, Logic Apps, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure (VPNs, firewalls, load balancers).
- Understanding of Zero Trust security models and modern workplace architectures.
- Previous experience migrating workloads from on-premises to cloud platforms.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, SCOM, or third-party solutions.
