Cube Networks is a trusted IT services and solutions provider, supporting some of the region’s leading enterprises with secure, reliable, and innovative technology outcomes. We’re now seeking a Network & Security Engineer - Level 2 to join our Managed Services team based in Colombo.
About the Role
As a Network & Security Engineer, you’ll deliver high-quality customer support across a wide range of networking and security platforms. From fault investigation and configuration to proactive monitoring and incident resolution, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our customers’ environments remain secure and operational.
This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate solutions clearly and confidently. You’ll also work closely with Cube customers, vendors, suppliers, and internal teams, contributing to both operational delivery and continual service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 support for incidents, escalations, and service requests.
- Configure, install, and maintain network infrastructures (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, load balancers, security platforms).
- Perform patching, upgrades, and proactive monitoring to maintain secure environments.
- Accurately log and manage cases in ITSM tools while ensuring SLA compliance.
- Liaise with vendors and carriers for escalations and resolution.
- Mentor Level 1 Engineers and contribute to knowledge base documentation.
- Participate in rostered support and scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Assist with continuous service improvements and operational enhancements.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualifications: TAFE/Diploma or tertiary education desirable; relevant industry certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, etc.) highly regarded.
- Experience: 5+ years in engineering and support roles, with proven expertise in:
- Routing & switching (Cisco/Juniper)
- Firewalls & security (Cisco ASA/ISE, Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5, NetScaler)
- Wireless & authentication technologies
- SD-WAN solutions (Fortinet, Juniper, VeloCloud)
- Monitoring/analysis tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, NetFlow, etc.)
- Cloud exposure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
