Lead Cloud Engineer

ResponsibilitiesCloud Architecture & Build

• Design, implement, and operate highly available, secure, and scalable systems on AWS.
• Drive multi-account and multi-region patterns (landing zones, guardrails, org SCPs) with hybrid connectivity and inter-cloud integrations.
• Build and maintain production infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CDK (TypeScript/Python), with reusable modules, versioning, and automated validation.
• Troubleshoot latency, throughput, and packet-level issues; instrument systems for performance insights.

CI/CD & Developer Experience

• Enforce GitOps workflows and change control with automated reviews
• Own robust CI/CD pipelines: build, test (unit/integration), security scans (SAST/DAST/dep), artifact management, and progressive delivery (blue/green, canary).
• Standardize templates, runners, and environments to reduce lead time and increase deployment frequency.

Security & Compliance

• Implement best practices for identity, secrets, encryption, logging, and monitoring.
• Align cloud controls to ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and customer requirements; contribute to evidence collection and audits.
• Embed security in pipelines and IaC (baseline guardrails, CIS Benchmarks, security scorecards).

Software Engineering

• Write clean, maintainable code (not just scripts) in Python/TypeScript, with unit tests, code reviews, and CI quality gates.
• Build internal tools/CLIs and reusable scripts to reduce toil.

Operations Excellence

• Define SLOs/SLIs, alerting, and runbooks; drive incident response and postmortems with actionable follow-ups.
• Produce high-quality documentation and maintain Operations Runbooks for repeatable tasks and recovery.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.
