PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Lead Technical Trainer on a Contract basis. This role is mainly remote but must still be based out of Miami, FL and able to come onsite for meetings. Only local candidates will be considered; no C2C/third parties.
Summary
An entry-level opportunity is available for a Junior Software Developer to support the development and maintenance of enterprise systems in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This role includes assisting with coding, testing, debugging, and documenting applications, particularly in support of a modernization project. It’s ideal for someone early in their career with a strong foundation in software development and a desire to grow in a public-sector technology setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of enterprise software applications using modern and legacy technologies.
- Participate in code development, testing, debugging, and implementation activities under the guidance of senior staff.
- Analyze user requirements and translate them into functional code.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions.
- Support system integration efforts and data conversion tasks.
- Collaborate with analysts, testers, and business users to ensure successful application delivery.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide user support during implementation and post-deployment phases.
Required Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in at least 1 programming language such as Java, C#, or Python.
- Familiarity with JCL and mainframe systems is a plus.
- Understanding of database structures and SQL or data manipulation techniques.
- Ability to learn quickly, follow technical instructions, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
- Exposure to legacy modernization or public sector projects is preferred.
