This is a hands‑on, learning‑focused role ideal for graduates or early‑career engineers who want accelerated exposure to modern cloud platforms, automation, and SRE practices.
Key Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day Systems Administration
- Provide L1/L2 support for user accounts, endpoints, and access management (Windows/macOS/Linux).
- Monitor servers, VMs, and network devices; triage alerts and escalate with clear diagnostics.
- Patch management, antivirus/EDR health, backup checks, and routine maintenance windows.
- Manage identity and access (AD/Azure AD/Entra ID), email (M365/Google Workspace), and collaboration tools.
- Maintain asset inventory, licenses, and documentation (runbooks, topology, SOPs).
- Handle basic networking tasks: VLANs, DNS/DHCP, VPN, firewall change requests under supervision.
Cloud & DevOps Support
- Assist with provisioning resources on AWS/Azure/GCP (EC2/VMs, storage, databases, IAM/roles/service principals).
- Contribute to CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps/Jenkins) for build/deploy pipelines; fix simple pipeline issues.
- Support Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation/Bicep) for repeatable environments.
- Work with containers (Docker) and learn Kubernetes basics (kubectl, manifests, Helm) for staging environments.
- Help implement monitoring/observability (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, GCP Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus/Grafana) and log pipelines.
- Participate in security hardening, secrets management (e.g., AWS Secrets Manager/Key Vault), least‑privilege IAM, and compliance checks.
- Aid in backup/DR testing and environment hygiene (tagging, cost/usage reporting).
Collaboration & Operations
- Follow ITIL‑lite processes (incident, change, problem) with clear ticket hygiene (Jira/ServiceNow).
- Join an on‑call/after‑hours rotation for maintenance windows with senior supervision.
- Communicate clearly with non‑technical stakeholders; update tickets, changelogs, and status pages.
Minimum Qualifications
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships and project work welcome).
- Strong grasp of Linux and/or Windows administration and basic networking.
- Scripting ability in Bash and/or PowerShell (Python is a plus).
- Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP)—labs, coursework, or personal projects count.
- Version control with Git; comfort using CLI tools and reading vendor docs.
- Good English communication (written & spoken) and documentation discipline.
Nice‑to‑Have (Plus Points)
- Certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner / AWS Developer Associate, Azure Fundamentals (AZ‑900), GCP Associate Cloud Engineer, Linux+, ITIL Foundation.
- Exposure to Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible.
- Experience with monitoring/logging stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/OpenSearch).
- Basic SQL/no‑SQL knowledge; understanding of REST APIs.
