Junior System Administrator / Help Desk

Compensation: $85,000 + 10% Bonus

Location: Remote (Must work EST hours)

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Junior System Administrator to join our growing IT team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Windows environments, Active Directory, and Tier II support, along with basic PowerShell scripting skills. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of technical tasks and grow into advanced system administration responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier II support for escalated technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime
• Manage and maintain Windows Server and workstation environments
• Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory accounts, groups, and permissions
• Perform light PowerShell scripting for automation and administrative tasks
• Monitor system performance, security, and backups
• Document processes, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations
• Collaborate with senior admins to implement system updates, patches, and enhancements
• Assist in onboarding and offboarding users, including provisioning accounts and access
• Support occasional cloud-related tasks (Azure, AWS, or similar) – nice to have

Qualifications:

• 2–4 years of IT support or system administration experience
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS (server and desktop)
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory administration
• Basic PowerShell scripting capabilities
• Proven ability to handle Tier II escalations effectively
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
• Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or similar) is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset
• Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours
