Job Description

An individual stepping into the technology world with a drive to learn and work with supervision and guidance on functional and non-functional testing using the latest industry-standard testing methodologies, coding techniques, and automation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an agile team adapting the DevOps culture
  • Identify test cases for user stories allocated using test design techniques
  • Automate feasible test cases using established automation frameworks
  • Perform both automated and manual test executions
  • Report bugs with all required information against failures observed

Skills & Expertise

  • A sound knowledge in Object Oriented Programming concepts
  • A good understanding in Software Engineering methodologies and principles
  • A general understanding of Relational or NoSQL database technologies
  • Excellent ability to pay attention to detail, with good analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • A self-driven person who can learn and grasp knowledge quickly
  • Good knowledge in at least one general-purpose programming language (Java, C#, Python, etc.)
  • Awareness of latest industry trends such as Cloud Computing, Virtualization Concepts, Containerization Technology, Microservice Architecture, Artificial Intelligence, etc.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Undergraduate (final year) or Graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent disciplines

Minimum Requirements

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a team setting, contributing to a positive team environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) or equivalent
  • Able to get to the designated Pearson worksite/office for this particular role. The role is hybrid which is generally 80% remote, with the requirement to go into a Pearson office (as and when required).
