Cube Networks, is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Associate System Engineer to join their Sri Lanka-based team in Colombo.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their infrastructure career who enjoys problem-solving, system support, and working in a collaborative environment.
🔧 What You’ll Do
- Monitor systems using tools like SolarWinds
- Run diagnostics and follow support procedures for Windows Server environments (e.g. EFTPOS testing, service checks)
- Execute PowerShell scripts to assist with troubleshooting and automation
- Log into vCenter/VMware to check VM and ESXi host status
- Access server and storage management interfaces (BMCs) to validate hardware health
- Perform basic network checks (IP addresses, DHCP, gateways)
- Understand and work with RAID arrays and UPS fundamentals (battery runtime, load, voltage)
🧠 What You Bring
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Experience engaging with internal teams, vendors, or customers
- A foundational understanding of:
- Windows servers and basic networking
- Server hardware components (e.g. disks, memory, PSU)
- Monitoring tools and IT ticketing systems
💡 Nice to Have:
- Experience in a tech support or infrastructure operations role
- Familiarity with VMware, PowerShell, or remote hardware interfaces
- Interest in building a long-term career in enterprise IT and networks
