Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Data Engineer located in Colombo. The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data processing pipelines and databases. Day-to-day tasks include data modeling, implementing Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, managing data warehousing, and performing data analytics. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and availability for decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
Data Visualization & Reporting
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau, aligning visual outputs with business KPIs and analytical objectives.
- Optimize dashboard performance and implement effective data storytelling techniques to support decision-making.
Technical Leadership
- Collaborate with solution architects and stakeholders to understand business domains, assess requirements, and design scalable data architectures.
- Lead technical planning, development, and testing strategies during pre-sales and pre-execution readiness stages.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data engineers, promoting best practices and continuous learning.
Project Delivery & Execution
- Review development outputs and ensure high-quality, performant, and maintainable solutions.
- Manage data loading strategies, testing execution, and historical data migrations.
Quality Assurance & Go-Live Support
- Drive unit, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring full traceability to business requirements.
- Lead go-live efforts including data validation, system handover, and post-implementation support.
- Ensure timely delivery and smooth transition of solutions to support teams or end users.
