Huddled is an early-stage student communication startup aimed at rebuilding the way students connect, collaborate, and communicate within educational institutions. We are backed by a global venture capital firm, Antler and a strategic group of angel investors. We are looking for a software engineer to join our collaborative team and drive our expansion strategy.

Position Overview

This is a full-time remote role based in Sri Lanka with an ideal start date of August 2025.

As an early Full Stack Engineer at Huddled, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the development and delivery of our platform, directly contributing to the evolution of student communication. Being a key part of our Product team, you’ll work to deliver high-quality, scalable, svelte solutions that resonate with our users and support our growth goals.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Development

• Design, develop, and maintain key features of our student communication platform, ensuring performance, scalability, and ease of use.
• Develop in Svelte, TypeScript, Tailwind, Capacitor.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with our growth team to understand user needs, provide technical insights, and bring product concepts to life.

Code Quality and Testing

• Ensure high code quality through effective testing, peer code reviews, and peer training.

Documentation

• Create and maintain clear documentation, including technical guides, API references, and user support assets.
  

Expectations

• Work hours are 6AM - 2PM Sri Lankan Time (IST).
• Ideal start by August 2025.
• Strong programming skills with an understanding of scalable architecture.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and initiatives within a fast-paced startup environment.
• Strong analytical skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Willing and able to learn by doing.
• 3-5 years experience as a software engineer
• 1+ years working in a early stage startup
• Solid knowledge of Typescript, HTML, CSS, & SQL
  

Good to Have, but Not a Requirement

• Experience with cross-functional projects or managing aspects of the product life cycle.
• Experience in a early stage tech startup.
• Understand or experience with the following; Svelte, TypeScript, and Supabase, Tailwind, Capacitor, Azure, Posthog (or similar)
• Experience with native frameworks or languages
  

Compensation

The successful candidate will be remunerated with a base salary of LKR200,000 — LKR300,000 per month.
