The BI Developer supporting the Business is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions to support data-driven decision-making. This role will work closely with multiple departments to create high-quality dashboards, reports, and data models, ensuring that business leaders have the insights they need to drive performance and efficiency.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Dashboard & Report Development:

Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau to support business functions with clear and insightful data visualisation.

  • Data Integration & Transformation:

Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in data handling.

  • Data Modelling:

Develop and maintain robust data models to support reporting and analytics needs across various business units. Working with the Data Integration team and build data flow processes within Tableau

  • Collaboration with Business Insight Team:

Work closely with Business Insight Business Partners and key stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Performance Optimisation:

Ensure optimal performance of BI solutions, improving query efficiency and data processing times.

  • Automation & Process Improvement:

Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance efficiency in reporting and data delivery.

  • Data Quality & Governance:

Support data governance initiatives by maintaining high-quality data standards and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR.S

  • Support & Troubleshooting:

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for BI tools and reports, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Documentation & Training:

Maintain comprehensive documentation of BI solutions and provide training to end-users on dashboards and reporting tools.


Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience as a BI Developer, Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Expertise in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and transformation.
  • Experience with ETL processes and tools.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling and database design.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple sources, including APIs, databases, and cloud storage.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex datasets.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience within the insurance, financial services.
  • Experience working in an agile and fast-paced environment.Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis and automation.
