As a DevOps Engineer in Benchmark & Index Management the individual will be responsible for supporting the development and deployment pipelines for software delivery of index systems required for strategic business growth. The candidate will be required to provide technical expertise, ownership and responsibility of the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributes and leads development of CI/CD pipelines in cooperation with Central DevOps to update existing and support new features
- Identifies, prioritises, and performs tasks in the software development lifecycle
- Assist multiple delivery teams by integrating source code and automation frameworks into release, integration and deployment pipelines
- Advocate for and implement engineering guidelines for excellence, including automation, code reviews, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and performance tuning
- Maintains environments, ensuring correct tagging, rightsizing, utilisation and documentation
- Documents platform and application deployment, recovery and support requirements
- Reviewing and recording cloud health and performance metrics, publishing to development leads on a regular basis
- Collaborates closely with business and engineering partners to deliver products, services, improvements and solutions to meet customer needs and align with goals of the business and engineering lines
- Communicates with clarity, precision, and influence, presenting complex information in a clear and concise format that is appropriate for the audience
- Drive a culture of engineering excellence through mentorship, peer reviews, and promoting standard methodologies in software design and development
- Continuously optimize systems for performance, scalability, and security in a fast-paced, production environment
- Over 5+ years proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, maintaining delivery pipelines, environments and supporting delivery teams
- Thorough knowledge of application architectures, including cloud architectures and AWS native services - AWS EC2, EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, AWS Glue etc
- Extensive experience with CI/CD tools & pipeline automation – Jenkins, GitLab preferred
- Proficiency with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Good experience with application and infrastructure monitoring and support tools – Geneos, DataDog, Dome9
- Prior experience with source control systems and git flow processes – BitBucket, GitLab
- Strong experience with SQL Server and database management
- Experience with .NET Framework and Core application and IIS deployments and management
- Prior experience with client-side Single Page Application frameworks for UI development (e.g. Angular)
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable code and systems
- Extensive experience in software engineering principles, CI/CD tools and automation processes
- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mentality
- Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, Delivery Management, and/or Emerging Technology and Governance
- Experience working in an agile environment with a focus on collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement
