We are looking to hire a Senior DevOps Engineer for a project with a service provider. In this role, you will play a crucial role in evolving our core platform, operating within a highly specialised domain with complex integrations. This role focuses on enhancing platform scalability, resilience, and operational efficiencies. As a hands-on technical expert, you will tackle sophisticated challenges and align engineering efforts with strategic goals established by our R&D leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Offer daily technical guidance to your team, ensuring best practices, efficient workflows, and high-quality, scalable code delivery.
- Drive the design, development, and deployment of new platform features and enhancements, ensuring alignment with business goals and seamless integration into the platform.
- Oversee the health and stability of our systems. Manage technical debt, promote proactive system monitoring, and lead incident responses to swiftly resolve operational issues.
- Identify and lead initiatives to enhance processes and technology, modernising legacy systems while aligning improvements with the strategic vision of the platform.
- Collaborate with architects, technical leads, and R&D leadership to ensure alignment with organisational objectives. Work with long-standing team members to leverage existing knowledge and foster cohesive teamwork.
- Mentor and guide fellow engineers, share best practices, encourage skill development, and set a standard for delivering high-quality work.
Requirements
- 7 years
- Expertise in cloud-based architecture and distributed systems. Essential familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, ECS, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Advanced knowledge of AWS, including networking and security, is required. Proficiency in modern engineering practices such as continuous integration, API-first development, and microservices is a must.
- Proven experience with infrastructure automation and management using tools like Ansible and Jenkins, as well as monitoring frameworks.
- Solid understanding of Scrum practices and experience working alongside product managers, Scrum Masters, and cross-functional teams to deliver value iteratively.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire teams, fostering a growth-oriented and collaborative culture while respecting the knowledge and expertise of team members.
