As an Application Security Intern, you will assist the Application Security team in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security risks in software applications. This hands-on experience will allow you to develop a solid foundation in application security while working alongside experienced professionals.
How you will make an impact:
- Assist in conducting application security assessments, encompassing static application security testing (SAST), dynamic application security testing (DAST), code reviews, penetration testing, and security architecture evaluations.
- Participate in threat modeling exercises to identify and assess risks associated with applications and systems
- Perform vulnerability scanning using available tools and generate reports.
- Help in analyzing and documenting application security vulnerabilities and recommendations for remediation.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand application architecture and identify potential security risks.
- Research and stay updated on emerging security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Support in reviewing and testing secure coding practices in collaboration with developers.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of web application architectures, APIs, and databases.
- Familiarity with common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and remediation techniques.
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
