Position - Lead Engineer Network Operations
Superloop is looking for a Lead Engineer Network Operations, a subject matter expert position providing technical leadership for the Network Operations team, reporting directly to the Head of Network Operations.
Our office is located in CBD Business Centre, No. 41 Janadhipathi Mawatha with AEST working hours (3 a.m. start time at office)
The role is a key interface between the Network Operations and Network Engineering teams and is accountable in ensuring that the greater Network Operations teams have the capability, knowledge, documentation and processes required to support the Superloop network and associated services.
What will you do?
Responsibilities include:
- Act as a key interface into the Network Engineering and infrastructure teams to facilitate effective knowledge transfer and technical escalations.
- Implement training plans to ensure that the Network Operations team has the technical capabilities required to support the Superloop network and all connectivity products, including Ethernet, Internet, IP Transit, Optical, Dark Fibre, Broadband Aggregation, SDWAN and SASE.
- Ensure that the Network Operations team has the correct processes and work instructions in place to effectively isolate any faults or issues on the Superloop network or associated services.
- Act as a technical escalation point and provide consultancy for senior network support engineers.
- Implement a skills capability matrix for all network engineers.
- In collaboration with network engineering, ensure that operational processes are reviewed and updated quarterly.
- Workwith the respective team managers within Network Operations to ensure the team comply with documented technical processes
- Ensurethat the Network Operations team has the correct systems, processes, documentation and training to support any new network implementations or new technologies added in to the Superloop network or product portfolio.
- Establish and manage a training lab environment within the Superloop Colombo office for upskilling and training of new staff on Superloop network topology and network infrastructure.
Here's what you'll need:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a Telecommunications/ISP/Broadband service provider in a similar role
- Masters Degree in Telecommunications or Engineering certified or equivalent level of knowledge
- Experience managing complex issues with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in providing technical leadership, mentoring and coaching team members
- Advanced knowledge and experience with networking products including Juniper & Cisco:
-Proven experience managing a large-scale Service provider network
-Expert level knowledge of MPLS, LDP, RSVP, MPLS-TE, EVPN, L2VPN and SR
-Expert level knowledge in Cisco NCS and ASR platforms
-Expert level knowledge in BNG
- Expert level knowledge in EVPN-BGP
- Must have very strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Must be a self-starter, use initiative and able to work collaboratively with cross functional stakeholders.
