Job role:

The Systems Engineer for n-TOC/Customer Infrastructure at N-able Sri Lanka is responsible for proficiently managing Windows, Linux, Storage, Hardware, and VMWare technologies, with a focus on ESX/ESXi. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the seamless operation and management of VMWare environments, fiber connectivity, SAN storage, and associated networking solutions, while also providing support for Disaster Recovery scenarios.


Responsibilities:

·       Operate and manage VMWare technologies, specifically ESX/ESXi. Possess specific knowledge of VSphere, VMotion, Vcenter, and other enterprise-level toolsets. Handle tasks related to VLAN tagging, VMware snapshots, storage provisioning, and system drive expansion within the VMWare environment.

·       Operate and manage fiber connectivity, ensuring that all VMs are stored on SAN storage for clustering capabilities. Administer fiber-based core/edge SAN tape and disk environments, including IBM tape libraries, tape devices, SUN/STK tape devices, and Cisco/Big-Data/Brocade switch/director infrastructure. Manage EMC EDL disk subsystems.

·       Configure data center networking solutions and hardware load balancers, including Cisco Nexus 1000v, BigIP, NetScaler, etc.

·       Provide support for Disaster Recovery (DR) scenarios and remote site failover as needed.

·       Implement EMC Networker Setup and Configuration in a multi-data zone environment. Operate and manage EMC Storage Technologies.

·       Manage Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems.

·       Maintain documentation and storage standards to ensure compliance and efficiency.

·       Implement Microsoft Server 2012 infrastructure technologies. Have knowledge of MS SQL.

·       Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as required.


Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

·       Professional certifications in VMWare, EMC, or related technologies preferred.

·       Strong experience in managing Windows, Linux, Storage, Hardware, and VMWare technologies.

·       Proficiency in ESX/ESXi, VSphere, VMotion, and Vcenter.

·       Knowledge of fiber connectivity, SAN storage, VLAN tagging, and disaster recovery procedures.

·       Familiarity with enterprise networking solutions and load balancers.

·       Experience with Microsoft Server 2012 and MS SQL.

·       Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

·       Ability to work in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support.
