About the Role
Nanthi Ventures is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to ship production software on a modern, AI-native stack. You will own features end-to-end — from database schema and security policies, through backend logic and AI integration, to frontend UI and audit logging.
This is a hands-on role on software built to a high standard, often in regulated and compliance-sensitive domains where audit trail and traceability matter. We are not building prototypes, and our engineering standards reflect that.
You will treat AI tools — Lovable, Replit, Claude Code and LLMs — as productivity multipliers, not as authorities. You will verify what they produce and read the diff before you ship.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and ship production features end-to-end on a Supabase + Vertex AI + React stack, owning the work from data model to UI.
- Write idiomatic TypeScript and React; review and correct AI-generated code rather than accept it uncritically.
- Author Supabase migrations, Row-Level Security policies and Edge Functions to a high standard. Enforce tenant isolation at the database layer.
- Build and maintain audit logging. Significant actions must produce immutable, tamper-evident entries with traceability back to the originating document, transaction or AI run.
- Integrate third-party services — open banking, identity verification, e-signature, email and SMS — cleanly, with documented data flows and proper secret handling.
- Use Claude Code, Lovable and Replit productively, with prompts that are specific and verification-driven. Treat the GitHub repo as the source of truth.
- Own frontend architecture: routing, state management, forms, validation, accessibility and performance.
- Document significant architectural and compliance decisions so they are defensible later.
- Surface security and compliance risks early. Flag any change that weakens RLS, exposes secrets or alters a documented data flow.
- Mentor more junior engineers as the team grows.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of production experience shipping web applications in TypeScript and React, including idiomatic use of hooks, react-query, react-hook-form and Zod.
- Hands-on experience with Supabase or an equivalent Postgres platform: schema design, migrations, Row-Level Security, Edge Functions (Deno) and Storage.
- Strong backend judgement. You can model a non-trivial domain in Postgres, reason about indexes and query plans, and design APIs that hold up as products grow.
- Proficiency with AI-native build environments (Lovable, Replit) and the discipline to write prompts that do not silently regress unrelated code.
- Working proficiency with Claude Code for refactors, multi-file edits, codebase navigation and verification workflows.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI or Google) from a backend, including structured output, retry logic and prompt versioning.
- Sound understanding of API key and secret management. You have never put a third-party API key in a browser bundle, and you can explain exactly why.
- Experience working in a regulated, audited or compliance-sensitive environment — legal, financial services, healthcare or similar — or a credible willingness to ramp into one.
- Strong written communication in English. You can write a clear decision record, flag a blocker concisely, and explain a risk to a non-technical stakeholder.
- Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously across time zones.
Stack
Frontend and build with Vite, React 18, TypeScript, Tailwind and shadcn/ui (often via Lovable or Replit). Backend and database on Supabase — Postgres, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions on Deno, Realtime and pgvector. AI inference through Vertex AI in europe-west4, using Anthropic Claude as the primary reasoner and Google Gemini for judges and fallbacks. Day-to-day engineering uses Claude Code as an agentic coding CLI, with GitHub as the source of truth. State and data handling typically uses TanStack Query, react-hook-form with Zod, and react-router-dom v6.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience with Vertex AI, particularly the europe-west4 regional endpoint and the Anthropic publisher endpoint pattern.
- Experience designing or operating retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems on pgvector or comparable.
- Experience with UK or EU AML/KYC workflows, GDPR compliance, or related regulated SaaS.
- Familiarity with Plaid, Twilio or ElevenLabs.Experience setting up GitHub Actions for CI and deployment.
- Experience mentoring engineers or tech-leading a small team.
