DevOps Architect -Airline Domain
We’re looking for a seasoned DevOps Architect who can design, implement, and oversee complex DevOps ecosystems for a large airline customer. The role demands deep technical expertise, strong architectural thinking, and the ability to work across distributed, mission-critical environments where reliability, scalability, and operational rigor are non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
• Architect and maintain end-to-end DevOps pipelines across development, testing, and production environments.
• Lead the design of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud and on-prem deployment models for airline systems (reservations, operations, loyalty, APIs, etc.).
• Define CI/CD standards, branching strategies, and automated quality gates.
• Own infrastructure-as-code frameworks and enforce consistency across teams.
• Ensure high reliability and performance of systems underpinning real-time airline operations.
• Set up monitoring, observability, and incident-management frameworks with tight SLAs.
• Guide teams on containerization, service orchestration, and microservices deployment.
• Perform capacity planning, cost optimization, and environment right-sizing.
• Drive security hardening across pipelines, environments, and cloud components.
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, and customer teams to remove blockers and improve operational maturity.
• Mentor DevOps engineers and establish best practices across squads.
Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure roles; 4+ years in an architect-level position.
• Strong experience with AWS or Azure in enterprise environments.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, container runtimes, and service meshes.
• Expertise with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Hands-on CI/CD experience with tools such as GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Argo CD, or Spinnaker.
• Solid grasp of networking concepts—VPC design, routing, firewalls, load balancers.
• Strong monitoring and observability background (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.).
• Proven ability to run production systems at scale with strict uptime requirements.
• Experience working in regulated or heavily audited environments.
• Prior exposure to airline or travel-industry platforms is a major plus.
Soft Skills
• Clear, decisive communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to operate under pressure and handle live operational escalations.
• Strong leadership and the drive to raise the platform’s maturity.
Location & Travel
Occasional travel to customer sites for workshops, architecture reviews, or major releases.
