Job Title: Administrative Assistant I
Duration:3 months / (20 - 25 hours per week)
Location: Los Angeles, CA / Remote
W2 only.
Job Description:
- Reviewing and approving (when appropriate) application fee waiver requests.
- Notifying prospective students of information and materials missing from their application files and uploading the required materials into client's central imaging system when the applicants have replied.
- Responding to application status update requests.
- For non-admission-related queries, referring the inquirer to the appropriate office within ESD or elsewhere in the university.
- Training will be provided
Job Requirements:
- Excellent written communication skills
- Comfortable learning and using a CRM system
- Strong attention to detail
- Critical thinking skills — the successful candidate must be able to carefully and closely review applicant emails and identify salient issues which applicants themselves may not always articulate clearly (often due to lack of English-language proficiency)
- Tact and cultural sensitivity when dealing with inquirers of varied cultural backgrounds and levels of linguistic proficiency
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a high-volume, high-pressure work environment
- Ability to identify and prioritize tasks that are time-sensitive
- Discretion and understanding of university confidentiality policy when handling applicant communications
