As our Associate Quality Assurance Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and be responsible for providing technical expertise and ownership throughout the entire software delivery cycle. You will be required to work on both manual and automation aspects of functional and non-functional testing using the latest coding techniques, with a drive for new learning and requiring minimal guidance on carrying out assigned tasks.
THE ROLE
- Translate product requirements and user stories into robust test plans, test cases, and test scripts covering functional, regression, smoke, and UAT scopes.
- Design, build, and refactor automation suites (Selenium) and embed them in our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins) for fast feedback.
- Identify, document, and help resolve defects in collaboration with developers and product teams.
- Support test planning and contribute to test automation scripts under guidance.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies and contribute to discussions on quality and improvements.
- Continuously learn and develop QA skills and best practices within an agile environment.
- Configure, maintain, and continuously improve automated and manual testing frameworks to ensure scalability and reliability.
- Track, triage, and verify defects using Jira, working closely with engineers to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
- Monitor test coverage and quality metrics, sharing clear, data-driven reports with stakeholders.
- Advocate for QA best practices across the SDLC, shift-left testing, and exploratory sessions.
- Collaborate with project managers and designers to clarify acceptance criteria and enhance user experience through quality insights.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience in software quality assurance within agile teams.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly written and spoken English.
- Hands-on expertise with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Comfortable with Git workflows, API testing, Performance Testing and SQL basics.
- Solid grasp of testing methodologies, defect lifecycles, and CI/CD concepts.
- Eagle-eye attention to detail, stellar analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
- Curiosity and the ability to acquire domain and technical knowledge rapidly.
- ISTQB certification (or similar) is a plus.
- Prior working experience in the health care domain would be an added advantage.
