Summer Internship Program


Our Summer Internship Program offers hands-on experience at one of the world's most strategic companies. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with team members across different departments, supporting and leading specific projects. Throughout the 13-week program (from late May to mid-August), you will gain valuable professional experience, build confidence, and enhance your leadership skills. We offer paid internships with remote, hybrid, and onsite options. High-performing interns who align with our values may have the opportunity to secure full-time positions or extended internships within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Python scripts to automate data processing tasks.
  • Write efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data.
  • Collaborate with the data engineering team to design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines to integrate data from various sources into Snowflake.
  • Develop data processing solutions using PySpark for scalable data transformations.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving data engineering best practices.
  • Support ad-hoc data requests and troubleshoot data issues.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of ETL concepts and data integration processes.
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation.
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with any ETL tools (e.g., IICS, AWS Glue).
  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark, DataBricks, Snowflake, or other cloud-based data warehouses.
  • Knowledge of financial systems and data modeling concepts is a plus.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
