About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to join our HR Technology team. This role requires technical expertise in key programming languages and tools, as well as the ability to support, troubleshoot, and optimise our HR systems. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the stability, performance, and scalability of our HR technology platforms, ensuring smooth daily operations and providing timely solutions to any system-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide second-line support for critical HR technology applications, ensuring minimal disruption to HR processes.
- Troubleshoot, analyse, and resolve technical issues in a timely manner to maintain system performance and availability.
- Develop and enhance HR system features and functionalities using .Net, C#, SQL, JavaScript, and VB Script.
- Automate manual processes and optimise system performance to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with development teams during the full application lifecycle, from design through deployment, to ensure seamless transitions into production.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to recurring issues.
- Manage application releases, including implementing fixes, patches, and enhancements while adhering to strict deadlines.
- Monitor and analyse application logs and system performance to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on HR technology, ensuring continuous improvement in system performance and user experience.
- Ensure all technical documentation is up-to-date and accessible for future troubleshooting and support.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-system issues and contribute to system-wide improvements.

Skills and Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in an application support role, ideally with a focus on HR systems or related technology platforms.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues, including debugging code and managing SQL queries.
- Excellent communication skills to work closely with business users and other IT teams to resolve issues effectively.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly grasp new systems and workflows.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and meet deadlines. Azure DevOps

- Knowledge of HR systems and processes, with an understanding of the operational needs of HR departments.
- Familiarity with Agile, iterative, or waterfall development methodologies.
- Experience with log analysis, performance monitoring, and optimising systems for high availability.
