Job Purpose:

As a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be responsible for attracting, sourcing, and selecting top talent to meet our organization's hiring needs. Your expertise in candidate sourcing, interviewing, and assessing candidates skills and cultural fit will be essential in building a talented workforce that drives our organization's success.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with management on all diversity initiatives involving recruitment to ensure fairness in hiring practices
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and HR team to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies. Create job descriptions and job postings that accurately reflect job requirements and attract qualified candidates.
  • Utilise various channels, including job boards, social media, professional networks, and referrals, to source and attract a diverse pool of candidates. Proactively build talent pipelines and maintain a network of potential candidates for future positions.
  • Review resumes, screen applications, and conduct initial candidate assessments to identify qualified candidates.
  • Conduct phone screenings and interviews to evaluate candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit. Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers.
  • Conduct structured and behavioural interviews to assess candidates' qualifications, motivation, and potential fit within the organisation. Use assessment tools, such as skill tests, personality assessments, and behavioural evaluations, to further evaluate candidates.
  • Promote our organisation's employer brand and value proposition to attract top talent.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, providing timely communication and feedback to candidates.
  • Facilitate the selection process, including reference checks, background checks, and pre-employment assessments. Collaborate with hiring managers to evaluate candidate suitability and make hiring recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires. Coordinate with hiring managers and HR to facilitate necessary paperwork, orientation programs, and initial training.
  • Track and analyse recruitment data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of sourcing strategies, identify areas for improvement, and provide regular reports to management. Continuously optimise recruitment processes to enhance efficiency and quality of hires.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external recruitment agencies, universities, and other talent sources. Attend career fairs and networking events to expand the organisation's talent pool and promote employer brand.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and new recruitment techniques. Continuously enhance knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities.
  • Conduct preliminary interviews with recruits to gauge interest, personality and salary requirements
  • Ensures the maintenance of accurate and concise records and reports concerning all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Formatting of resumes and creation of profile summaries according to a predetermined standard
  • Make sure recruitment SLA’s for each targeted industry are met.
  • Provide feedback to management about details regarding applications
  • Actively work toward building a diverse and qualified team to support the organisation
  • Regularly update our market research spreadsheet to make sure our rates are competitive in the market.
  • Execute accurate reporting, enabling the department to analyse options and make financial recommendations that align with company objectives
  • Own the recruitment cycle from job requests, requisition forms, job advertising, resume analysis, interview process and leading the job signing.
  • Perform the end to end recruitment cycle.

Key Success Indicators / Attributes:

  • Proven experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, Recruiter, or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of recruitment processes, sourcing strategies, and candidate assessment techniques.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations related to hiring and selection.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS), job boards, and social media platforms for candidate sourcing and management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on meeting recruitment targets and delivering high-quality hires.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive candidate information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, fostering strong relationships with hiring managers and stakeholders..
  • Compliance with security principles, policies, standards, procedures and guidelines, laws and regulations.
  • Commitment and adherence to the company’s core value.
  • Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects and deliver effectively against timelines.
  • Submit weekly reports detailing steps taken, channels sourced, request date, request closed, number of candidates presented per client.
  • KPI’s: Candidates per Hire, Cost per Hire, Retention rate, Turnover Rate


Basic Qualifications (Education / Experience):

  • Bachelor degree in human resources management, or similar.
  • 3 - 4 years of experience as a talent acquisition specialist, or similar.
  • Ability to liaise with internal departments and develop hiring strategies and profiles.
  • Advanced knowledge of effective hiring platforms that attract suitable applicants.
  • Exceptional ability to screen candidates, compile shortlists and interview candidates.
  • Experience in creating awareness of the company brand and establishing professional relationships with candidates.
  • Proficiency in documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
