Technical Lead

This is a remote position.

The mission of Nimi Kash is to reinvent benefits and payroll for remote workers. We believe that remote workers, particularly in the Global South don’t have access to the same financial tools that those in the west have.   Nimi Kash’s portfolio of tools includes a multi-currency wallet to combat currency depreciation, access to a variety of asset classes, built around a financial wellness AI engine that stretches your wages as far as possible.

To take this product to market, we need your help. 

We are looking for a confident and capable technical leader with hands-on full-stack development experience. 

As a technical leader for the Nimi Kash team, you will manage small teams of engineers, review their work and mentor them. You will also design and develop one or more sub-systems, contribute to software architectural decisions, and will be responsible for managing clients and stakeholders.

This is a critical role. You will be the owner of Nimi Kash platform across API, web and mobile, and will be responsible for product engineering delivery, quality, up-time and performance. 

Key Responsibilities  

• Designing, architecting and delivering a performant and secure world-class FinTech platform at the highest level of quality, on time and on budget. 
  
• Communicate exceptionally, driving customer conversations, technical discussions, stand-ups, architectural design reviews, and release broadcasts. 
  
• Drive the design and definition of APIs, data models, and product architecture in partnership with the product team, delivering detailed architecture and design artifacts. 
  
• In partnership with the Test Automation leader, design, configure, automate and maintain continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines to ensure the highest quality delivery. 
  
• Mentor team members and review their work product (code, tests, designs) and continue to help them grow their skills. 

Requirements

Skills 

Must Have 

• Solid experience in full lifecycle development up to production implementation, and mission-critical support 24×7 of applications (in either enterprise or start-up ecosystem) on Node.js, Express.js, React.js and other related JavaScript packages/modules. 
  
• Experience in Docker, Kubernetes, and familiarity with Cloud technologies such as AWS EC2, AWS Lamda, S3, IAM, SQS, SNS and Cognito. 
  
• Excellent foundations in SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and good understanding of NoSQL technologies (Firebase). 
  
• Experience writing unit tests and working with E2E test automation tools. 
  
• Positive can-do attitude, analytical mindset and focus on business and technical outcomes. 
  
• Willingness to wear multiple hats and manage several initiatives in flight. 
  
• Highly self-organized, reliable and responsible. 
  
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or similar technical field 
  
• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English. 
  

Nice to Have 

• Experience in the FinTech / Banking domain 
  
• Experience with Cybersecurity risk mitigation 
  
• Completed SOC Type II or PCI Level 2 Compliance
