Job description

As a Tour Consultant, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently handling incoming requests via multiple channels (e.g. phone, email etc). You will be the primary point of contact for customers and give active tour consultations to business customers, including providing travel details and up-selling of related products.


This position demonstrates a strong understanding and applicability of all areas of responsibility.


As a Tour Consultant, you will

  • Manage incoming requests accurately and promptly, including providing travel offers and general travel advice to travellers, confirming travel reservations and understanding and accurately applying client travel policy and requirements to each interaction
  • Provides the customer with the required industry information, such as low fares, exchange costs and penalties
  • Support DT travel and client-driven initiatives
  • Performs follow-up as needed and within the time frame promised to the customer
  • Ensure requests are completed via appropriate DT Travel tools and systems
  • Maintains current knowledge of the state of the various travel industries supported
  • Accurately process complaints and ensure compliance with DT Travel systems processes and procedures
  • Adhere to DT Travel policies and procedures to maintain quality control
  • Offers suggestions to the customer and anticipates needs
  • Provides the customer with a full recap of the confirmed itinerary
  • Ensure compliance with the client service level agreement in all transactions
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned


About you

  • Minimum 01 year of experience in the travel industry
  • Solid working knowledge of the travel industry, policies, procedures and processes
  • Working experience in travel industry systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in designated languages
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Basic knowledge of Excel Word would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Maldive's Destination would be an added advantage
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to work independently, exercising discretion and judgment
  • Demonstrated professional customer service skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
